Islam Makhachev and Zhang Weili could become two-division champions on the night if they beat Jack Della Maddalena and Valentina Shevchenko, respectively, at UFC 322. MMA’s biggest card of 2025 takes place as the UFC makes its annual stop in New York City.
Makhachev is on a Hall of Fame run. Already the record holder for most lightweight title defenses, Makhachev will tie Anderson Silva’s 16-fight undefeated streak, a record that has held strong for 13 years, if he defeats the welterweight champion. Della Maddalena has arguably the toughest first title defense in UFC history ahead of him, but he’s better equipped than people think. With an evolving defensive grappling game, Della Maddalena could light Makhachev up on the feet if he can keep the fight there.
Speaking of strikers, former UFC women’s strawweight champion Zhang packs a punch. Zhang, like Makhachev, vacated her title in pursuit of a second weight class title. Standing in her way is Shevchenko, an all-time great women’s champion in search of her signature win.
CBS Sports will be with you throughout the entire way Saturday, beginning with the start of the televised prelim broadcast at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the main card at 10 p.m., so be sure to follow along with the live results and highlights below.
